About BB&C

Buying or selling a business is a confidential and complex process.  It requires the expertise of someone who specializes in this field.  While  many claim to be “experts,” such claims are often greatly exaggerated. It’s not uncommon for real estate professionals,  accountants, estate attorneys and even layman who have dabbled in  business sales  to make such claims, when in truth, it’s not what they do, everyday, year in and year out.  Their lack of experience can cost you time, money, and often kill negotiations that would otherwise succeed with a truly experienced Broker.

Your business is almost certainly the largest investment in your portfolio and you need the very best professional to represent it. To find that professional, begin with these basic questions.

How Long have you been in business?
The longer your candidate has been in business and personally practicing, the better. Most Intermediaries work on commission, so only the best can afford to make it their primary source of income.  BB&C has been brokering businesses since 1997.  Our Firm is highly specialized and this is our primary business.  Our Principals all have over 20-years of experience with BB&C.

Are you a licensed Real Estate Broker?

BB&C is licensed with the Kentucky Real Estate Commission and answers to its high legal and ethical standards. Some Business Intermediaries are not licensed real estate brokers and and only a licensed Real Estate Brokerage can legally negotiate the sale or lease of the real estate associated with your business.

Have you sold a business like mine before?

There are aspects to almost every business that make its transition unique. Over the past 20 years, BB&C has worked with countless businesses in dozens of different verticals.  Chances are we have already sold a business like yours. Do you charge any up-front fees?

BB&C does not get paid for its brokerage services unless your business sells.  In other words, we don’t get paid unless you get paid.

Can you provide me with references?

Intermediaries should be eager to furnish you with references, and lots of them.  The best way to learn about any brokerage is from the business owners they have already helped. To receive a complete list of references from BB&C, please contact us, or Visit our Testimonials & Success Page. Learn More>>
